André Beauchamp Saalmann, born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and raised in the picturesque town of Carolina, is a versatile artist whose innate connection with art was forged from his childhood as he observed his father immersed in creating graphic designs and inventing, with André actively participating. He completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2023 at the Río Piedras campus of the University of Puerto Rico, studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts in multidisciplinary arts. His academic background has provided him with a solid foundation to express his creativity in various fields, excelling particularly in visual and digital arts. Beauchamp does not confine himself to a single artistic medium; he ventures into creating video mapping installations, sculptures, video projections on sculptures and panels, augmented reality, motion graphics, graphic design, photography, engraving, videography such as video editing, sound environments, special effects, visual effects, and more. In his sculptural works and video mapping installations, he employs sophisticated audiovisual techniques while simultaneously exploring spirituality and perception in the human experience. Additionally, he has made his mark in the theater and film industry by working on various films, contributing his talent to creating stage designs for various productions, and making special effects, visual effects, and audio for the different films and plays theater. His artistic vision has also extended to the realm of health, where he has contributed as a graphic designer for the JPS laboratory at the Comprehensive Cancer Center. In this context, he has applied his visual skill to effectively communicate relevant information in the scientific and medical fields. In his installations, Beauchamp incorporates "glitch" effects, reflecting agreed-upon constructs of reality, challenging conventional perception, and allowing us to explore the possibility that we live in a designed reality or a distorted dream that escapes our time and space. With mastery, he addresses these minor issues or flaws as elements that enrich his artistic expression and, in a way, invite us to reflect on the nature of existence.
