• Provide comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, managing acute, chronic, and preventive healthcare needs.
• Perform thorough patient evaluations, including history-taking, physical exams, and development of differential diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Manage a diverse patient population in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including pediatrics, geriatrics, obstetrics, and internal medicine.
• Conduct minor surgical procedures, wound care, and other office-based interventions. Interpret laboratory tests, radiological studies, and other diagnostic tools to guide clinical decision-making.
• Participate in hospital rotations, including Emergency Medicine, ICU, and subspecialty consults, ensuring continuity of care. Provide on-call services, often managing up to 30 incoming calls, high volume patients and addressing critical medical emergencies.
• Lead patient education initiatives, counseling individuals and families on disease prevention, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications. Engage in continuous medical education and research, staying current with evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines.
• Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation in compliance with institutional and legal standards. Contribute to quality improvement projects and departmental initiatives to enhance patient care delivery.

• Provide comprehensive care to neurosurgical patients, including preoperative and postoperative management.
• Perform detailed patient assessments, including neurological examinations, history-taking, and development of diagnostic and treatment plans.
• Manage critical care neurosurgical cases under supervision of neurosurgeons, including trauma, stroke, intracranial hemorrhages, spinal cord injuries, and other emergencies. Order and interpret advanced imaging studies (e.g., CT, MRI, angiograms) to guide surgical and medical decision-making.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including neurologists, intensivists, anesthesiologists, and rehabilitation specialists, to provide holistic patient care.
• Provide on-call coverage, managing acute neurosurgical emergencies and responding promptly to consult requests. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including operative notes, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Educate and counsel patients and their families about neurosurgical conditions, procedures, and postoperative care plans. Participate in academic activities, including case discussions, research, and quality improvement initiatives to advance neurosurgical care.
• Adhere to hospital protocols, ethical guidelines, and safety standards to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

• Provide immediate and efficient medical care to patients with acute illnesses and injuries. Perform thorough patient assessments, including history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
• Diagnose and treat wide range of medical conditions, stabilizing critically ill patients. Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team, including nurses, specialists, and paramedics, to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Make timely decisions regarding patient admissions, discharges, or referrals.
• Administer medications, perform minor procedures, and provide advanced life support as needed. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, emergency standards, and patient safety guidelines.
• Engage in patient and family communication to explain diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care plans.

• Under direct supervision of the program director and attending physicians, perform direct patient care.
• Complete patient notes, medical orders, H&P, discharge summaries, as well as being involved in preparingphysician plan orders and prescriptions.
• Participate on several procedures in the following rotations : Family Medicine (4 wks), Internal Medicine (12wks), Pediatrics (8wks), OB&GYN (4 wks), Surgery (12 wks), Surgery (12 wks), Emergency Department of Peds/Adults (4 wks) and elective rotation (4 wks).
• Do 24 hours on-call services every 4-5 days for Internal Medicine, Surgery and Pediatric's services.
• Prepare topics for case presentations, mortality and morbidity reports, research journal club, among others...
• Attend daily medical education conferences, participate in morning rounds, topic presentations in local radiostation and community service clinics.

• Biotech International is a physical rehabilitation center that specializes in sports medicine. My responsability as a medical assistant include helping the physical therapist perform the physical exam and diagnosis of new patients, assist patient's physical task that aid them in their rehabiliation process, report their advances through progress notes and modify their excercises regimen according to their performance.

• Worked at the Dominican Red Cross for one year to complete a government requirement to obtain an exequatur license. I worked 6-hour shifts two days a week and on-call 12-hour shifts every 21 days.
• My job as the main physician in the blood bank was to evaluate every volunteer who came to donate blood. Performed thorough history and physical exams to determine if the volunteers met the conditions of a viable candidate. Also, monitored the volunteers during blood collection in case first aid was needed. Assisted more than 100 volunteers each shift, during which I was able to work on my empathy and clinical skills. Around 20% of the volunteers were unable to donate because they had STDs. For this reason, we offered educational talks to every volunteer about disease prevention and health promotion.
