Community Outreach Experience

Teddy bear hospital at Head Start | 2023 | San Lucas Hospital 

  • Had the opportunity to demonstrate through advocacy patient care skills with emphasis in health prevention and health maintenance education and enhance age related communication skills, and prevention of white coat fear in children.

Mobile clinic at Ponce Playa | 2022 | Gastrointestinal interest group in collaboration with the vascular surgery interest group 

  • Helped to coordinate a Mobile Clinic that offered the Ponce community free health care services such as Vital Readings, Vaccinations, Hepatitis C workup, and general education about several health topics (e.g., Cardiovascular, Gastrointestinal, Immunology, etc.).

Social medicine Interest group | 2020-2024 | Ponce Health Sciences University

  • PHSU’s social medicine interest group meets every Tuesday to pack up lunches and first necessities to give out for the homeless people of Ponce.

Mobile Clinic at Yauco | 2020 | Ponce Health Sciences University

  • After the earthquakes of January 2020, a group of medical students led by different Doctors from the PHSU network gathered at Yauco to provide free health care and collect a needs assessment for the affected area.

  • Following a year as a nurse’s assistant I was transferred to work under the guidance of the Physical therapist of the home. Was instructed to carry out different mobility exercises for the habitants of the home.
