Accomplishments

  • FEMA selected the PBA as the first Government Agency for the obligation of funds from section 404 of the “Stafford Act”, knows as the “Hazard Mitigation Grand Program”, related to the atmospheric event Hurricane Maria. These funds will be used for the design of two (2) “Safe Rooms” structures, to be built in the Municipal Island of Vieques and Culebra. Once the design proposal for both structures is approved, FEMA will obligate the funds for their construction.
  • Accomplished the largest negotiation in the entire government where we achieved with Triple S property company for the damages caused by Hurricane Maria, after an arduous negotiation we reached an agreement of 82 million (Lum sum).
  • Recovered the 2019-2020 tenant rents $ 109.3 million and fiscal year 2020 -2021 with projections are $ 125.3 million.
  • Negotiated and signed an agreement with the Department of Education on the allocation of FEMA funds of 2.294 million to restore the 425 schools of PBA.
