Clinical Training Experience

Clinical Practicum – Division of Services for Adults with Intellectual Disabilities
August 2024 – May 2025
Supervision: Dr. Thaiz Rivera

As part of this clinical placement, I worked with adults diagnosed with intellectual disabilities as well as individuals with complex psychiatric conditions, including schizoaffective disorder and schizophrenia. Services were provided within a psychosocial model aimed at promoting autonomy, quality of life, and community inclusion.

My responsibilities included:

  • Observing and participating in functional and psychological assessment processes.
  • Collaborating in the development of individualized intervention plans.
  • Participating in group interventions focused on social skills, emotional regulation, and activities of daily living.
  • Integrating a human rights and social justice framework into clinical practice.
