• Fall - Spring 2020 RCMPRN: Reflectance Confocal Microscopy Parallel Recovery Network
• Designed, implemented and tested a post processing deep neural recovery network in a merge and run configuration for a signal processing framework
• The proposed model enhances the spatial resolution of confocal microscopy skin stacks that were obtained by implementing compressive sensing
• The model outperforms state of the art recovery and denoising models, such as DnCNN, in metrics such as PSNR and SSIM This model will allow medical practitioners to obtain skin samples more efficiently Mentored by Dr Heidy Sierra and Dr Emmanuel Arzuaga
• Summer 2018 Space Weather Web App Development at the Community Coordinated Modeling Center. Reverse engineered an IDL developed space weather forecasting tool, used for coronal mass ejection measurement, called SWPC-CAT. Afterward, ported the knowledge extracted and developed a Web implementation of the tool with the addition of 3D visualizations. Used Dash, a Python framework for building analytical web applications and applied Bootstrap and other Python libraries. This work was done at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland under the supervision of Richard Mullinix
• 2017 - 2018 Estimation of the Rate of Sea Level Rise in Puerto Rico from Harmonic Constituent Analysis of Tidal Records Examining the sea level rise at La Puntilla, San Juan station for the generation of a hindcast for tidal levels based on the known harmonic constituents of the tides in San Juan and subtracting it from observations by creating MATLAB program that allows tide forecasts and hindcasts. Mentored by Dr Alfredo Torruella and funded by NASA
• Summer 2017 Multi-Party C-Tree Based Semantic Trajectory Clustering with MapReduce. Developed an algorithm that converts geo-locational trajectories to semantic trajectories and later clusters them with a data structure developed by Katrina Ward called “C-Tree” utilizing Hadoop computing paradigm Missouri University of Science and Technology, mentored by Katrina Ward & Dr Madria
• 2016 - 2017 Spectroscopic Image-Based Path Planning for Autonomous Mobile Robots Programming the Pioneer-3DX movement interface by processing data recollected from its sonar, camera and laser sensors University of Puerto Rico at Bayamon, mentored by Dr Elio Lozano.
