Company Overview: Blue Roof Project
- It included receiving information of houses that needed to be worked on, finding the location of those houses using coordinates
- Calculating the number of materials needed for the job and loading them into a pickup truck for transport
- Upon arrival at the site, an inspection of the work area was made, photos were taken, and the required work was confirmed
- Then we would work as a team with a brigade of 4 people to install the awning safely on the roofs
- Sometimes the job required rebuilding the roof structure because the hurricane left it with nothing to put an awning on
- So, it was not uncommon to have to rebuild an entire roof
- After the job was done, I had to take pictures of the work, send them to the appropriate place and leave the area
- That was my job at first but less than a month later I ended up moving up to a foreman position
- Where I was in charge of brigade groups
- It was my job to coordinate with the company and my supervisor, receive documents from the house and deliver them to the crews to work
- It was also my responsibility to inspect the brigades' vehicles to make sure they were safe and not to let them go if the vehicle was not in good condition
- As foreman it was my job to go to work zones to inspect the work and see that the workers were using the safety equipment required by the company
- At the end of the day, I had to receive the paperwork from the brigades, validate their working hours so that they would be able to work safely
- Improved team productivity with regular communication and progress updates, fostering a collaborative work environment.
